The plenary poster session is intended to provide an interactive presentation of papers. The success of a poster session is attributed not only to the high quality of the papers selected but also to the authors' adherence to the guidelines for effective presentation in poster format.

The poster should allow the attendees to recognize the key points of the work easily from a distance of at least 5' and to facilitate more detailed discussions with the authors. Often the best poster comprises a few large significant graphs/illustrations annotated clearly with only enough text to headline key points like purpose, conclusions, and impact. Note that the poster should not consist of a copy of the manuscript

General Guidelines
•  Poster sessions are organized in the evenings of July 17, 2006 (Monday) and July 18, 2006 (Tuesday) during the congress. Please check the session schedule on the web to see which day you are presenting.
•  In order to make these sessions run smoothly, some cooperation from you, as a poster presenter, is necessary. First, it is essential that your poster is put up just before the start of the session and removed immediately after it has ended.
•  Authors are expected to be present to answer questions throughout their scheduled poster session. We encourage authors to prepare a short 5-minute presentation, summarizing results reported on the poster.
•  The panel area for each poster paper is 4' by 4'.
•  Your poster will be attached to the panel with push pins, which will be available in the poster area.
•  You are free to use one large poster or many smaller posters, as long as they fit in the provided panel area.
• The title of your poster should appear at the top in CAPITAL letters about 25mm high. Below the title, put the author(s)' name(s) and affiliation(s). The flow of your poster should be from the top left to the bottom right.

Specific Guidelines
• The poster will typically consist of a number of letter-size or A4-size pages taped to the panel, although larger paper formats are acceptable and even desirable.
• One page is to consist of the paper title, authors and affiliation.
• A second page is to consist of a brief abstract outlining the key points of the paper.
• Use a minimum font size of 18 points for text and 30 points for headings.
• Limit text to 4-6 key points per page.
• Limit graphs or illustrations to 2 per page.

Appropriate use of color is encouraged.

Best Poster Presentation Awards
The congress will present three awards to the best poster presentations, one for each conference. The criteria for selecting the best presentations are:

• Quality of the paper: originality, significance, technical merits, and overall quality.
• The presentation: clarity of the presentation, and effectiveness of communication of the concepts to the audience.
• The poster format: the layout and design of the poster.

An Award Committee headed by the Poster Sessions Chair, Ling Guan, will be formed to evaluate the best poster presentations and make recommendations to the Operation Committee which will make the final decision. A certificate and cash award will be conferred to each winning poster during the Award Banquet.
